This life is what you make it. No matter what, you’re going to mess up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you’re going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends – they’ll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything – they’re your true best friends. Don’t let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they’ll come and go too. And babe, I hate to say it, most of them – actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can’t give up because if you give up, you’ll never find your soul mate. You’ll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn’t mean you’re gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don’t, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.
Ways to make yourself more worldly.
- Read newspapers. Being aware of world issues and new technology on the horizon is an important part of appearing worldly. Suggested papers: The Sunday Times, The Wall Street Journal, National Geographic, Time, New Scientist etc. or, if you don’t have enough time for all of it, read The Week.
- Listen to all sorts of music, try a different radio station, or buy a CD by a band you’ve never heard of. Sample as many genres as possible. You never know what you might like. See as many iconic artists/bands live as possible.
- Improve your English. Trying learning a new word each day and using it in conversation.
- Learn a new language. Useful ones to have knowledge of are French, German and Spanish. A bit of Latin always comes in useful too.
- Learn a sport. Rugby, fencing, or join a league for your age group at a park. Stay dedicated and you should improve steadily.
- Read lots of books. Classics are usually best to start with, e.g. David Copperfield, but try newer books too, e.g. Cloud Atlas, in order to be well-rounded.
- Try an instrument. Piano players are always appreciated. Try writing your own songs after a while.
- Join lots of clubs and societies.Generally, try to meet as many different “types” of people as possible.
- Don’t stick to the same boring job, if you’ve always wanted to take a year out to teach English in Africa do so.
- Travel as much as possible, even if just in your local area. Non Brits should try England. France is always good too.
- Fall in love (but don’t go looking for it, let it find you).
- Embrace your national identity and history. What is everyday sights and routine is often a whole to new world to those in other countries.
- Learn how things work. A basic idea of how a car works is very useful.
- Go to museums and different festivals

Brain farts.
I’m not blogging with much depth as I’d like, mostly due to the fact that I’m lazy. Because clearly, the “ I’m too busy ” excuse people make is simply… an excuse. So, I’ll just randomly type out the first thing that triggers interest in my mind. This shall also suffice as an update on my life. Two in one deal? You’re welcome!
- I wake up every morning loving what I do career-wise. Just because I graduated college, the learning process never stops. My advice: always keep learning/reading and be willing to take risks!
- I’ve become obsessed with the stock market and Wall Street Journal
- I don’t mind being married to my career. In fact, I’ve never been more in love.
- Women who seek to be equal to men lack ambition.
- I’m starting a major city tour this weekend. My booked weekend trips consists of: Philadelphia, Boston, DC, Miami & Austin. Toronto & Chicago are in the works
- I need to drastically drop 15 pounds — but I have no self control when it comes to food indulgence.
- I like dating- in fact, I prefer dating over serious full time relationships.
- It’s probable that I can survive eating Pinkberry for the rest of my life.
- Dallas Cowboys are 0-2, yet I still remain loyal and TRUE to my team.
- Obsessing over Italian Culture: the food, the language and the men.
- I miss snowboarding & skiing, although I’m awful at both.
- I have a glass of wine everyday while I play classical music.
- As of lately, electronic/trance & house music has on repeat. I’m enjoying going to underground raves. Talk about out of my comfort zone, right?
- I bought a ton of jewelry this weekend at a street festival.
- All of my co-workers are hot, it’s brutally unfair.
- I need to have my wisdom tooth taken out.

My life is beautifully blessed. Despite my current heartache based on distance, I’m so grateful for this life God provided me with. Loving parents, supportive communities, most incredible friends in the world, a man who reminded me how beautiful I am, and most of all — a thriving career in the financial industry that I’ve worked hard for! My heart is literally bursting out of my chest from an abundance of joy. Thank You, Lord.
Can’t..
I’ve been in love before. After the downfall of it, you never really think you’d be able to fall in love again — or limit yourself to romance. But once you find someone who actually gets you, adores you, & wants to share everything with you…. it’s almost unimaginable to fathom something this real could possibly exists in this world.
How someone so kind, generous, exciting & breathes fresh air into your life can shower you with so much love. It’s unnerving knowing how when I’m around him, our energies just heighten and bring out the best in each other. I don’t really know whether the elation comes from the qualities of him that attributes to me, or whether the glow that surrounds him shines from the light that love triggered around me. Perhaps it’s just the sparks that triggered with our dynamic instant connection.
I think it’s safe to say that we’re absolutely crazy madly in love with one another. The lack of him is more to me than others’ presence. And when we’re together, we completely forget anyone else is around. I’m 100% enamored and engulfed.
